CONNECTING ARCTIC OBSERVATIONS WITH SOCIETY THROUGH COMMUNICATION, DISSEMINATION, AND ENGAGEMENT
Leads: Josefine Lenz, APECS, and Anna Sinisalo, GRID-Arendal
We work closely with all Arctic PASSION project partners and collaborators to communicate the project activities and disseminate our results. We engage in dialogues and other activities with audiences, which include early career professionals, the scientific community, Arctic community members, decision makers and other citizens of the Arctic, as well as collaborate with the sister projects and the EU Polar Cluster.
We are developing the interactive map “Arctic Window” to provide an overview of Arctic PASSION's new services and observations. We produce videos and webinars and coordinate content of the Arctic PASSION social media channels on X, Youtube, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook
The Online Seminar and Dialogue Series is used to communicate project’s topics, share ideas, plans and results, and to initiate an inclusive dialogue with people from different backgrounds and career levels. It is targeted to Arctic youth, early career professionals and other interested audiences.
One of the highlights of our work is the APECS & Arctic PASSION Sharing Circle for Early Career Professionals and Arctic Youth. 18 international participants from nine countries came to Northern Finland to learn about dialogue, co-management, intercultural collaborations and the Skolt Sámi history and culture. The Sharing Circle was organised in collaboration with the Arctic PASSION partner Snowchange.
